Ali is the former England Hockey U 18 Boys Head Coach, Heartmath coach and has worked with some of the best junior and senior athletes in Australia, New Zealand, The United Kingdom and Ireland. He moved to the UK four years ago to pursue a full time coaching career and through that journey has coached the Welsh U 18 Girls, Durham University and now works as Head of Hockey in a private school. His philosophy is simple, “if we treated mental performance as a foundation like we do all other aspects of sport and not as a bandaid, we would create a whole generation of athletes performing at a completely different level.
“Before I started working with Graeme I lacked confidence and I was unsure if I was on the right path. His advice helped me to believe in my ability as an athlete and visualise my success in the sport. The sessions also helped me deal with my emotions in order to achieve peak performance both in my training as well as on fight day.”
World U23 Gold Medalist – Rowing
“Working with Graeme was my first experience of of how different mental approaches could maximise physical performance. Prior to working with Graeme I would often fall just short of performances I believed that I was capable of and our work together has not only helped me to reach those goals but progress beyond them into new levels I hadn’t previously thought possible.”
National League Hockey Player
Ali has had a profound impact on my mental game, amongst my physical too, but most importantly has given me the aid and skills to cope under the pressure of high level hockey. I now feel I can cope with the stress and difficulties that playing at the highest level entails; something I accredited to the works of Ali.
Optimal State Performance Camp
How do you perform when it really matters?
Do you have the mental performance skills to cope with the demands of high level sport?
Do you know what is happening physiologically inside your body when you’re at your best and when you’re not?
If you are looking for the edge over your National and International peers then this is the camp for you!
Optimal State is an immersive mental performance programme specifically designed to remove the classroom and instead deliver the content in the athletes domain, enabling them to be at their best when it matters.
This camp is hands on, high intensity, high pressure and high energy. But if you want to be a word class athlete you are going to have to work in that environment everyday – so you better get used to it and learn the skills required to thrive.
Designed for junior elite and aspiring junior elite athletes, the camp is for limited numbers, ages 15 – 19 and is an application and selection process.
BY THE END OF THE PROGRAMME YOU WILL BE AWARE OF WHO YOU ARE AND HOW YOU PERFORM IN DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES, HAVE THE INTELLIGENCE TO ACCEPT YOUR CURRENT STATE AND ARE EQUIPPED WITH THE TOOLS TO BE ABLE TO OPERATE AT YOUR BEST WHEN YOU NEED IT THE MOST.
